Well I plan on getting a 350z in the next year and I'll be 17.
I live in Missouri
No Tickets
No Wrecks
Good Student Discount
Only drive about 25 miles on week days, 3/5 days. Other 2 I drive like 5-10.
I know these all affect insurance, plus more. What sports car do you own and how much is your insurance monthly?
I'm scared this 350z will break me money wise with insurance cost and gas cost.
Help me out guys!

Well, first of all, lets not get too gong-ho here. A 350z isn't a sports car... Don't try to make us "jealous" and uptalk it.. Sorry. Its the truth
ANYWAYS; It all depends on who you go through and what plans you get. (whether you get road side assistance, collision, etc) Without that, and which company you go through. It will change depending on that
EDIT: If you're scared its gonna "break you money wise" then don't get it... Simple as that. I would be willing to bet its gonna be $200+ a month for insurance.

Well considering the 2003-2005 models come with 287 HP stock. 2006-2008 have 300+. I would consider it a sports car. 2 Doors, faster than average car.
I'm not trying to make anyone jealous. I'm just stating it. Just to help out.

Of course it will hurt you financially, Depending if you are getting a separate policy it will also adjust the price. Personally if you could I would add a policy to your parents which will save you a little bit. On top of you being 17, the title will go in your parents name but the insurance in yours. Being a sports car (classified being 2 door, the 350z is not a sedan) for the love of god not red *which raises the cost by $45-75 for just being a red sports car*. I would expect no less than 2,000 a year. If you get less than that Good luck to you.

I'm 19 and I drive a 2014 Shelby GT 500 and I have full coverage on it, I pay $385 a month, but I do have an accident and too fast for conditions on my record.
That being said, in my state (Michigan) the younger you are, the more insurance costs. Also, if you are a male under the age of 21 you are considered more of a liability than a female under the age of 21 so therefor your insurance costs more than a female of the same age and driving record.
Now, I am not sure if you intend to have full coverage or PL/PD, but PL/PD for me, on my car would only be $80 less a month, I considered the extra $80 to be worth it.
Also, if you are going to be under your parents insurance, it would be cheaper to have them be the primary driver of the vehicle and you be a secondary driver. (At least up here it is)
But you can never know until you get a quote from insurance agents. I suggest getting the VIN number of the car that you are getting/own and sit with your parents and discuss with them what they think will be the best options and call your insurance provider and they can quote you a rough price based on what your parents have on their policy and if you have a VIN.

Exactly you drive a 2014 Mustang, I'll be getting like a 2003 lol. Depends on year of the car and all the stuff I stated above. I have USAA which is kind of costly but you benefit from it a lot.
I will talk to my mom about calling them for a quote soon. $400 a month would be a killer for me

Well, yes, the difference in age of the two cars do factor in, I didn't read that you had an older car until after I posted. Before I bought this car 5ish months ago I had a 2004 Monte Carlo Super Sport, 2 Door 4.0 Liter v8, I had full coverage on that and it was $175 a month (before I got the accident and too fast for conditions on my record)
I assumed that you wouldn't be able to afford $400 a month, I wasn't trying to deter you or scare you with high prices, I was just telling you what I pay.

The good student discount for me over here in California was only about $45. If you're just getting insurance under your name and you aren't under a family plan then it'll be around $440 a month for full coverage. If you get a family plan with your dad then it'll drop down to around $170 a month. Mine currently is $340 a month. Dropped it down $100 because I got it in a plan with my sister. She's only 21 though that's why it didn't go lower. & the gas on it isn't bad. I always try to keep mine under 2rpm.
