I quit playing for 4/5months and decided I had all my skill still and got destroyed over and over.
I played a lot of WoW, ESO, LoL, and some FPSs here and there. It ruined my aim. Plus, I switched mice about 2months into my break and I couldn't use find my old one when I decided to try and go back.

There's less hackers in high ranks. Gold nova ranks are the "hot spot" for hackers and smurfs so those are the hardest ranks to get through.
