So i bought an xbox one last year and theres 2 years left on my warranty..., my controller has become faulty and i am wondering if i go to the store tommorow and he sees that it is faulty will he give me a new or will he send it off and I have to wait a week.

It depends on the store. You have to bring in everything that came with your xbox when you trade it in, but all they do is check the serial numbers and then replace your controller. Not your entire setup. Hope that helps.
EDIT: Depending on the store as well, they might make you buy a new warranty afterwords so...
