Any peugeot not in the 100 range would do you good.

Cheap insurance, parts are easy to find and also pretty cheap, fuel efficient. Cant go wrong really

Simillar cars you could get;

Ford Fiesta
Fiat Punto (the new model as the old one is pants)
Vauxhall Corsa
also ones youve said you could go for a Golf or a Polo but hey will cost more money.

Whats your price range?

Golf or bora is your best choice. Stay away from french shit boxes and definitely don't even look at cora's you may catch something if you stare too long.

My first car is a Fiat Punto Grande(06), the insurance is cheap and parts are easy to find.

Decent on fuel and nice to look at.

Insurance for me is £900 a year, which was the cheapest i found for a 17/18 year old.

Car cost me £1500, was a decent buy.

Vauxhall Corsa's and Renault Clio's are good for a first car.

I'm 17 and passed my test in December, I've got a 1.6 Mini One.
