I recently got a new internet provider. And it wasn't soon until I noticed I had massive ping spikes every now and then (online games). So, I went out and bought a CAT6 ethernet cable assuming that the wireless was the problem. Nope. Nothing had changed and I'm really confused. PS: My internet is relatively strong. Thanks.

It may just be old wiring in your house. If its not ring up your ISP and let them know.
