And probably never will.

It's more aesthetic than anything, people who do it usually do it for the looks, or maybe to try it out. It's a bit silly doing it seriously, as someone mentioned, efficient fan placement is better than time and effort on watercooling.

I am currently finishing off my rig, buying components here and there when I have spare money, only a few 'cheaper' parts left. I will be using an X61 AIO in my H440. I was considering a custom loop in my H440, after a few months of using it with the X61, as an upgrade but have decided against doing so in the future. Custom loops can get messy if not done right. The main appeal with a custom loop is the aesthetic, my reason for a custom loop would be that it's more of an enthusiast feature, and well, I'm an enthusiast so would love to give it a go. I love to see build logs, especially ones with custom loops so get some pictures up.

Personally, I know my X61 will handle my 4790k perfectly well, and even cheaper air coolers(not too cheap) are going to do the job 90% of the time, but I want to do a custom loop at some point, for the experience. Hoping to get some work sorted, get some money and finish my current rig. Might save for a second rig, if possible, but am going to be saving for car money(about time I start) and for travelling sometime in the next few years. If I can manage to scrape a few pounds here and there every so often into a "secondary PC" savings, then I'd like a challenge, an Enthoo EVOLV ITX with custom loop would be fun, but best case- full overkill upgrade with case labs case.

You mentioned you've done your own loop and mentioned the tubing, did you use PETG, acrylic or flexible? Flexible is much more simple and I'll probably go with flexible tubing and quick fit connections when I eventually do a custom loop.

Some nice comments here & we all know Sanctyy is a boss ! haha I just watched Linus Tech Tips new video when they used "Hardline" Tubing which is much more of a difficult task , but it's worth it.

I would if I could afford it. High end air cooling performs nearly as well, looks really cool nice, and is much cheaper.
