I'm not sure if any of you are aware of Indiana passing a law to turn away gay people and not serving them.

Now even more recently in California someone is trying to get enough signatures to be able to execute gay people...

These are real yes, and quite disturbing.

The not serving gays is taking us back to the segregation of blacks and whites... Did we not learn that that was wrong?

People throw religious beliefs out there as their "reason" to suppress gay people..... However did America not come together to keep church and state separate? and freedom of religion?

I guess not..

I find it repulsive that people degrade other peoples existence.

No im not gay, so I don't have to deal with peoples "hate", but I don't think anyone should have to deal with it.

Keep your opinions to yourself, not force them on other people... You may not like "gay" people but that doesn't mean you need to hate or discriminate against them.

Its sad that our world is going back to suppressing people...

2015 and we still find time to discriminate against everyone who is different.
Imagine how much of a better world we'd live in if people just allowed people to be themselves and who they want to be.

When people try to stop them from oppressing people they act like they are being oppressed, like their religious freedom is being taken away.
I don't know if it's hilarious or tragic any more.

I'm willing to make the statement that anyone who supports, believes in, votes for, or endorses segregational or discriminatory legislation or behavior of any kind is arrogant and a pothole in the path of a prosperous nation.

You people are indistinguishable from the repugnant mindset of our racist grandparents and you can't even see it.

And I'm ready to argue.

There hasn't been a moment in human history where someone wasn't being suppressed.
It's not "going back" to anything. It has always been there.

I personally don't agree with gays, but I never, and I never will show hate towards them. I don't understand why people do to be honest.

You would have thought that by 2015 we would have put behind the segregation of LGBT people like we did between the segregation of African Americans. The people who say that it is their freedom to follow their religion are not wrong to do so but when they use their freedom "follow" their religion and deny the rights of any other person, in this case any American, then that is no way acceptable. Once somebody uses their freedom to take somebody else freedom away, that first person should not be allowed to have such freedom.

I was going to agree until the last part. It's not fair that others take away certain groups' freedom so we take away those people's freedom? That's pretty ironic don't you think?

What do you mean you don't agree with gays? What is there to agree/disagree with?

I'm not attacking you btw, just curious to know what you mean.

Irony and hypocrisy are distinct.
If group A has a freedom at the expense of group B, equality would dictate that group A has the freedom removed, or that group B has the freedom allowed.
For example, you allow marriage for everyone, or you allow it for no one.
