So I'm trying to get myself a kickass sound system in my car. I tried buying subs and amps once locally and failed miserably. I returned it all, and I'm trying again through Amazon. Well, this time I'm doing my research instead of impulse buying.

I've been using [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] for reference, and I didn't know I had to match ohms with the subs. Well, I'm planning on buying these three subs:

2 10-Inch 880W Dual Sound Q Series Low Profile Car Audio Subwoofer with dual 4 ohm

and

1 600 Watt - 15" which doesn't specify anything about ohms

I don't know what I need to look at to understand what ohms I need from the amp, and that's where I need help.

For an amp, I'm currently looking at:

2200W Monoblock Class A/B Intake Series Car Audio MOSFET Amplifier which is 2 ohm mono block

I need to know if the amp is compatible, and if not, what exactly an amp needs to be for it to be compatible. Also, if it isn't exactly the right ohms but the watts are fine on an amp, how much of a difference does it really make? I'm new to car systems, and I'm trying to learn, but it's difficult without someone here to explain things to me. Any advice or information is greatly appreciated!

Oh, and if you're going to suggest new parts to me that I could use, I have a budget of around $500 for the subs, amp and a capacitor. Then I have about $200 for a custom box and installation.

Oh again, I was advised by a friend to do the two 10's and one 15 setup. He said the 10's would hit the high bass and the 15 would hit the low bass great. If this is bad advice or you would recommend otherwise, I'm open to new ideas entirely.

I will be able to design a full setup for probably cheaper than $500 for you.

The woofer choice you have made me cringe.

I also advise you to not mix/match sub sizes.

Also if you're going to go with that setup and your amp is going to be running all three subs, I would very much like to see what you wire your subs to and what your final impedance will be.

Just going to list a few budget subs for you.

SoundQubed HDS300 series.

Skar Audio VD or VVX Series

American Bass XFL Series

As for amps, I would go with any of the following:

Hifonics

Soundstream

NVX

Audiopipe (wont do rated)

I can list many other companies that are better than those but you have a tight budget

In my opinion I would go with one high quality 15 paired with a nice amp on proper electrical.

If you need help with a box design I can do that for you also.

I'm going to say this nicely.

Please leave.

The only thing I agree with is the fact that you choose KnuKonceptz, but you got CCA, not OFC

That Planet Audio amp has a 30 amp fuse, that means even at 14.4V it will only do 432 Watts RMS. Thats not even 1/3 of that 1500 number.

I really don't even want to talk about the Kicker subs.

It's 600 RMS between the pair, thats a joke. Even with that horrendous amp you suggested they would be underpowered.

I clearly stated that I know little to nothing about car sound systems. You didn't tell me why my subwoofer choices were bad. You didn't tell me why not to mix and match sub sizes. you didn't tell me why the wiring might be complicated or bad or whatever you're trying to imply. You didn't explain why one 15 inch sub would be better. You didn't teach me anything. All you did was throw your negative opinions at me.

If you're offended by my knowledge I'm sorry.

I am here to help. If you took my comments as banter thats you.

I recommend you getting a nice 15 powered by about 1000/1500 RMS.

If you have a newer vehicle it should be able to support that power at 13.7V constant.

If you would like me to give you suggestions on the sub and amp pair I will gladly help you.
