Are there any post beeps?
If you have a post speaker plug it into the motherboard, boot the pc and listen to the beep code.

When you try your new CPU if it works fine then there's the problem but if not then..

0 beeps indicates No Power, Loose Card, or Short.

I had this problem not long ago, i end up paying 115 pound as scan told me my motherboard was not posting even when i RMA'd it and indicated that was the problem to soon find out my Powersupply messed up on me too.

So if it doesn't work after the new cpu, try a new Powersupply first. If it still doesn't work it will be the Motherboard shorting or bad RAM.

No was the same thing with my PC all fans Leds etc lit up but the 12V rail was naffed. I wouldnt spend money on new parts yet, go to a local pc shop and ask them to test the PSU or ask to borrow one of a friend. If its fine then try ask if they can test your mobo. RUN a memtest with the ram.

Alright if the CPU doesn't work I'll most likely take it down to a local shop.

They charged me 2 pound to test the PSU as it only took a second.

Don't mind paying a couple dollars, I just want it to work haha.

sounds like the cpu isnt compatible with the motherboard you may need to send it back to get it updated or do it your self

Yeah, decided to do it myself, compatible CPU comes in tomorrow! Hopefully thats the problem.
