I know both of these computers have their perks but I was wondering which one would be the best for college. Any advise either way would be good. Right now I have a 2011 Mac Pro and some 2008 PC. (lol)

I mean mac os is great for college students because its simple, not to mention their computers are quite light. However, if you plan on doing any gaming or anything like that, go with the alienware. Just make sure you get one of their smaller models, not the huge notebooks that are basically desktops.
There are some other options like MSI and lenovo, which sort of give you the best of both worlds. They provide lightness (if you get the right model) and many, if you are willing to pay, will provide great speed and graphics.

Are you looking for a desktop or laptop?
Either way, I wouldn't get an alienware. Macbooks are good for school work but don't expect to be able to do hardcore gaming on them.

Depending on your budget and needs really.
Id get a Mac Book for college any day of the week. It looks better, weighs less [probably] and will perform on par.
Again, without a budget, its hard to throw down some facts and numbers.

I bought a Mac Book specifically for school. Simple and easy, I wouldn't know about the alienware though

Mac book - Web searching, documents and school work.
Alienware - Gaming at its finest.
I recommend the Mac book as it has a very nice design and is very light.
