I'm currently 4/1/2 in comp and I have been doing pretty well. I haven't been 'top fragging' but I have been in the middle and usually never 'bottom fragging'. Almost every game is with DMG+ players. I'm not sure if this means I will get placed in this high rank or what.

I'm just curious if this is a normal thing or what not :p

Thanks!

Highly doubt you are being placed with DMG's and LE's if you just got this game and have no previous experience. Plus you aren't top fragging, and you have lost some. You would have to top frag and carry every game to be placed with DMG's and LE's at 4 wins. But nice job if this is true.

I think that because you have been playing fairly well at higher ranks, it's still testing the placement of "where is this guy's cap of skill level". The system is trying to find where you get absolutely destroyed compared to "can do okay" to check against the higher end of your skill level.

The way the current unranked system works is it places you in a game with the lower ranks and depending on your win / loss and general performance it ups the difficulty.

Normal jumps are Silvers, Nova 3s, Master Guardians, Supremes.

That being said if you lose a game against Master Guardians you will go down to the Nova tier again and so on until you finish your 10 games then it evaluates your overall performance and gives you a rank based on that.

Hes not the more you win in a row the higher rank you get placed if you win all 10 you will be placed supreme. My main account was placed DMG so congrats but if you are new stick to lower ranks and play DM

It all depends on your elo-rating. The ranks you play with will fluctuate as you play for your first 10 wins. I was in the same boat as you and was then placed in silver after losing as many matches as I did before receiving a rank.
