I'm looking to give them a try but I'm slightly worried as I have small hands. I can't decide whether it's best to get the BO3 ones or the Vortex, does anyone recommend any of the two?

The Original is the pair I got even on the Xbox One I don't like their new forms of the product. The Original pair they made were and still are my favorite to use.

What type of gaming style do you play? Like Close Quarters, Long Range, Sniping etc. and I have very small hands also though they work so I love them. I have the CQB and the Classic versions, they work great together though it all depends on how you play. The Black Ops 3 version would not do much I don't think as they are just made to represent the game and it does not look like there was much thought put into them like the others but it is your decision.

I rush for the majority of the time but there are times where I sit back a little and try picking people off at range.

I had a pair of the long COD Ghosts KFs for 360 (hated them).

Not too long ago I bought a pair of the original CQC Kfs on XB1 and love them.

It's all preference at first and then getting used to them.
