every card is different, some overclock better than others, its a lottery. Watch a couple of vids on youtube and start with a small overclock and work your up. Keep an eye on temps

Some 270X's are voltage locked, so overclocking won't happen.
What variant is your card?
Just because it says OC edition means that it's per overclocked.

I got around 1175MHz on my Vapor-X and could only get a small OC on the memory stable, like 50 something MHz. It didn't make that much of a performance gain. However, I would set a custom fan profile so that you can keep it nice and cool.
