Is it possible to add RAM to a Macbook Pro.

If not would it be better to buy a retina edition to run a few games if possible?

You can upgrade the memory on a Mac Book Pro yeah, it's not that hard of a job

However if you want to upgrade the memory to run games then that is not going to aid in the running of games on it at all, personally speaking if you want to run games a Mac is not the option you want.

That being said if you want to add more memory for other reasons than gaming, make sure you get the right kind of memory for your system, that being said it will most likely be DDR3 1333MHz on a Mac but if you need to check just remove your old memory and find the label on it and give it a quick google search to find the specs of it.

As far as I know a Mac would probably manage to run Minecraft as it is a CPU based game not GPU and Macs tend to have decent processing power.

Although for the price of a Mac new you could probably get a decent Windows based laptop for half of the price.

I have a MacBook with 4gb of ram (brothers computer) and he uses it to play Minecraft all the time. It runs god but there is still some lag, just install optifine mod and maybe 4gb more of RAM.

But like boar said it would be better to get a windows laptop for about the same price(Razer Blade maybe?)

There are much better options for less money than the Razor Blade.

You can NOT upgrade the ram in the macbook pro due to being soldered to the motherboard. I believe the only mac you can upgrade is the mac mini. Hope this helps
