First of all, yes I know there is a programming forum, but this is really more of me seeking an opinion visually, not really coding, so I posted it in the general section.

I have just started on my first website today! Hurray! I recently started learning CSS and HTML this week, so it's not perfect, but its looking pretty good. I also haven't yet put the files on any hosting platform, so I don't have a link to it.

I just finished the navigational menu and the general layout for the page today. If you have any comments let me know. I will likely be changing the font to look more like the logo.

Here is the webpage:

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Here is what happens when you hover over one of the links in the menu:

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Again, this is just the navigational menu, I will be adding much more. Thanks for any input you might have.

Incase you were wondering, the website is for my dad's computer business. He has a decent website right now, but its a tad outdated. If he likes mine better then so be it, if not it was just a learning experience .

Mods: if this is in the wrong section or whatever just move it, either way is fine.

FIRST EDIT (changed the font):

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I looovee the new font choice, so much better than the old one, thanks to everyone who suggested for a new font!

SECOND EDIT: (changed the logo placement):

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
I moved the logo to the right a bit, it makes it look more even. Basically I just centered it.

THIRD EDIT: (thinned the lines):

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
I thinned the lines out a bit (only dropped them down in width by 2 pixels xD) thanks to DaftPunk's suggestion.

This website is turning out nice!

I think that its turning out nice, I'd like to see it with more progress, or when it is finished.

The overall design personally I have to be honest, the font would be better off something clean, try century gothic and then try make it so it's unique, different everyone loves different.

Not bad for a starter website, you need to make sure your code is formatted correctly and you are using appropriate techniques where you should.

Good job!

Thanks, I certainly will post more once I get it further. I have just spent about 3 hours today getting this start going, hopefully I can knock that time down on future websites, however it was my first site it's certainly a trial and error sort of experience.

DaftPunk_ wrote I like it, though I'd choose a cleaner font and not make the color so strong a.k.a increase the opacity or lightness slightly, you're doing great though I know how stressful doing this is, chin up and keep at it bro!

Thanks man! I am definitely gonna mess around with the colors and what not. Today was more of a; get the bare bones layout and get the nav menu working.

I like how it is coming out so far. It's clean and simple, I'm looking forward to how its going to look when it is done!
