The right stick isn't programmed to do anything on the dashboard, neat how you found out that it works in Network Settings though lol.

Fire up a game and see if it works there.

Alright, go to settings and go to devices, under that you should be able to update your controller see if that works.

I have a huge problem with my left analog stick where it gradually leans upwards and moves all around the place on my game. it doesn't stop and makes it really hard to play games.

If your xbox is under warranty you make be able to get a free replacment.

You probably just jam it too hard when you play.
