Mostly had this revelation after reading [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] : people are constantly pointing fingers at companies for using ideas other companies mainstreamed. I don't see why reusing those ideas to make a product better is construed as a negative. Companies that incorporate popular features of other products into one product effectively raise the standard which is what competitiveness is, something vital to a functioning market economy. Apple and Microsoft use each other's ideas all the time.

Does this bother anyone else?

to compare this to video games is like saying "oh wow cod has an m16 and so does battlefield so battlefield is trying to be like cod".. or "wow cod has jetpacks and so does halo so cod stole the idea from halo"

You explained it well and I agree with you, its just how companies are. They try and make things better, thats what healthy competition is all about
