Basically a friend of mine wants to get a PC mainly for editing. He wanted to know if this was any good.

I don't really know much about PC's but I thought you guys could help me, help him. He doesn't really want to build one himself but if it's cheaper and better he will.
Thanks

Oh golly no, that's terrible. £300 is a tight budget, even for building a PC yourself but a £300 pre-built is going to be horrific. Like, at least £1k pre-builts are semi-usable. Is £300 his max budget? What exactly will the system be used for?

Well, don't listen to that advice because it's terrible. I'm going to eat some curry but if no one has helped by the time I get back, I'll help.

Not a bad suggestion but if it's not going to be used for gaming, and will only be used for the likes of editing/rendering, drop the GPU, grab an i5 or i7 or something.
If he's willing to wait, he could do something like this;

with a Broadwell i7 and no iGPU. The 4C/8T CPU will help with editing/rendering and Broadwell iGPU is going to be a huge improvement. He'll need a bit more money since Broadwell i7 will be pretty expensive but it could be worth it.
Otherwise, the above suggestion is good. Or, the above suggestion with an i5-4460 or something instead of the i3+GPU, maybe add an SSD in, if you can manage.
