The majority of mainstream music has cool beats with meaningless lyrics.

This generation of music isnt BAD, but everyone has their own style. I just wouldn't compare it to something like classic rock or classic punk.

This is actually my point, i just didn't make it clear at all lol
Like Young Thug, I don't understand what he says, but The beat is cool.
Same with chief Keef, he uses the same lyric over and over with a beat on it and somehow it's popular.
That's what bothers me.

That's what the music business is all about.
They sell songs that have meaningless lyrics with catchy beats.

I really only listen to one band and that would be Skillet. I stopped listening to rap because it has no meaning anymore. It's just a bunch of rhyming words thrown together.

I know only a couple rappers that actually talk about life and their lyrics have meaning,
J-Cole and Phora

I like some of the new generations songs but the dances that sometimes come with it are just ridiculous.

its all honestly personal preference and probably to do with what your friends listen to and your parents. because im fine with the first song and i like rap and such and so do my friends so they listen to the same stuff and my dad is fine with listening to hiphop on the radio in the car. so i think i like these types of music because its what i listen to the most
