Hello.

I'd just like to say thanks to the guys who suggested me different builds.

- Sanctyy, Alexyy and a few others.

My PC is up and running, graphics card installed, windows 8.1 installed.

Now I have a few questions.

I have connected my dell ultrasharp 1440p monitor to the graphics card but in the resolution settings in windows 8.1 the resolution does not go up to 1440p, only something like 1068xsomething.

Also, how do I enable the graphics card to run instead of the onboard graphics?

Thanks.

Make sure you have the Nvidia control panel downloaded and drivers for the GPU.

or the AMD one depending on the GPU.

The HDMI goes from the back of the monitor and into the back end of the graphics card.

Ok will do.

I'll set up my computer and connect it to my ethernet and start downloading all of the updates etc...

Hopefully then the 1440p resolution will show.

Yeah drivers are key make sure you downloaded the right one from the manufacturers website.

Yes the Video cable should go into the end of the GPU.

Any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Yeah I have a problem.

I've plugged in my computer etc...

But there isn't any network adapter for my ethernet to work to connect to the internet.

I'm trying to find some drivers I can install from my USB stick.

Ok not to worry.

I've found the network adapter and am now typing from it right now.

However, my resolution has fixed from the Nvidia geforce experience application but any install interfaces such as the steam login or install is in a low resolution.

The text is blurry and pixelated but any other window like thetechgame is clear and is showing in 1440p.

Ok nevermind, it turns out it was some stupid setting where it made the text 125% instead of 100%.
