I'm after a build for a friend who has a fairly low budget and wants a lot.

Budget: MAX $700 AUD but he would prefer around $600
I suppose any Aussie pc website will do (pccasegear I believe is the best)

Requirements:
No externals (mouse/keyboard/monitor)
No need for operating system

Mainly plays Minecraft but occasionally Borderlands, DayZ & Just Cause, just to name a few.
He wants to be able to play them at a bearable state (is that possible with this build)?

Thank you to anyone who helps me

If he can manage $20 over;

with this CPU;

If not, get this;
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
with the same CPU as before.

The second option just isn't as aesthetically pleasing IMO, and the motherboard is lacking some features, but will still do fine.

Thank you so much for getting back to me Sanctyy.

The budget might go over (which he has now said is ok) he wants i5 cause he thinks i3 is shit (his words)
Budget is still $700 but for things that would be worth it like i5 over i3 he says it's ok.
If you had $700 and could go over a small amount, what would you get?
Thank you very very much.

i3 is far from shit. i3 vs i5, the performance difference in games is fairly minimal. For the i5 over the i3, it'd be another $100;

Also, either way, remind him that he has to ask PCCaseGear to update the BIOS of the motherboard, regardless of which one he gets. The 4160 and 4460 are Haswell refresh so H81 and B85 chipset motherboards on older BIOS' aren't compatible with either the i3, or the i5. If the motherboards have been sitting in a stock room for a while, they won't have the latest BIOS but PCCG should be able to update it for your friend and then it'll work with the Haswell refresh chips.
