I am confused, are you asking how you can keep the game permanently or how you can keep the game permanently and still play it? Once you download it you will have it forever until you delete it. You will be able to play it if his Xbox licenses are on your xbox which means that his home xbox is your home xbox, I believe as long as that is true you will be able to play it without his account.

Sadly it is not, it would only work in a pair like a and b if that makes sense. A gives his game to b and b would give his game to a. If a gives his game to c, b would not be able to play it anymore, so using that C can only give it to one person, however it is possible for A to receive games from both B and C. It is really hard to explain. Sort of like this. The person who is sharing the game is the kid, and the person who is license transferring is the mother. If there is another person who would like to license transfer he would not be able to because the kid biologically cannot have two mothers, but the mother can have multiple kids. Sorry for these bad analogies, basically you can have 10 people license transfer to you but you cannot license transfer to 10 people.
