Samsung's new transparent 'Safety Trucks' allow drivers to see what is coming up ahead and know when it is safe to pass
The safety vehicles will have wireless cameras attached to their fronts to capture the road ahead.
The images from the cameras will broadcast to a video wall made of four video monitors located on the back of the truck.
Those monitors will 'give drivers behind the truck a view of what is going on ahead, even in the dark of night,' according to the company.
Samsung tested a prototype of the truck with a business-to-business client, but the test model is no longer operational.
What do you guys think about this?
I personally think its a great idea, especially for impatient drivers.

Ive tried looking online for how much it will cost, but I cant find anything.
However I found this quote on a website : ''While the camera might be cheap for most companies, installing four displays per truck is expensive and would require major investment''

I need one of those for my car.
Put a film on or something, would make driving behind people much more interesting.

LEWlE wrote this will never work people will be more focused on the screen than there actually driving
With the amount of people who try to overtake trucks or any vehicle for that matter, and end up getting in an accident, this will work more than you think. It's not like the back of the screens is playing a movie where the driver(s) looking at the screens would be glued to it, it's just showing the front of the road, as if they were in the truck driver's spot, so they'll still be paying attention, if a person gets glued to looking at what they would be seeing one car lane past the driver, then I don't know what to do with that knowledge.

How it works I don't know but apparently you will be able to see even at night time.

>Crashes Tuck
>Loses all that expensive equipment
Good idea though, would definitely like to see those trucks when traveling on a busy highway.

This is an awesome idea.
I commute about 30 minutes to work, one way, on a two lane road. It's a pain in the ass with all the semis driving 50 MPH when the speed limit is 60 MPH.
IMO, This will avoid many crashes.
