My Budget is around $450. I'm going to be ordering the parts soon but this is my final list so i want to see if i can get more feedback...This is my first build, and this is mainly for gaming.

    The FX-8320 is not that far off the 6300 price range but i decided to stick to the 6300. I do plan on overclocking.

    I originally selected 750ti but after reading reviews and watching videos i went to the 960, then to the 280x.

    - Is an SSD really worth it? I never had a problem with the boot-up speed of my 320GB, however i have never really launched a lot of games with the PC i used with it.

You won't be overclocking to any point where it helps on that motherboard. The lack of VRM heatsinks and the overall price of the board means it will get VERY hot if you put any more volts through it.

So either up your budget or put OC'ing out of the question.

Not sure where you get a 280X for that price from. But put it into this. Small changes but the PSU is better quality and the RAM is a little cheaper..

About the SSD question. Yes, they are worth it. Every penny.

So get one when you can.

I checked a lot of forums and completed builds with the same CPU and mobo. When it came to overclocking I found a lot of people who were either successful or planning to do it once they purchased a fan.... I guess I will pause on the overclocking until I see how the pc runs to avoid any heating problems. Also I did see that ram and I believe they were a lot of bad reviews which is why I stuck to the corsair which was still cheaper than g.skill. Everyone says ssds are a must so I will purchase a good one for this pc later on. By the way the psu you selected is not compatible with the 280x.

RAM is RAM... Reviews go by stuff that makes no difference in the real world. So ignore them.

The VP-450 will easily run a 280X, it should come with the required adapters.

AM3+ is dead. The Antec VP-450 is a little better than EVGA W1 unit. I'd be going with this though;

and grab that 280x. You can get this mobo to save $25;

Add an SSD when you can. i3>6300.

The thing you have to remember is, that gaming on an i3 serves some issues in some games.

Some games don't boot at all unless 4+ cores are detected. That is one reason why i suggest 6300's over i3's for gaming rigs unless a game list is provided and I know no issues will come of it.

I've had the issue in the past and it's a bastard!

The i3 would do. It'll still boot games. The only games that have issues launching with less than 4 cores are FC4, and AW. I think there might be one other game that was released kind of recently that might need a quad core to launch, but all of them will launch with the i3 since it has HT. However, you could always do this;

and grab the 280x. Spend another $10 or so for the N200 over the Core 1000 if you wish. Can spend another $20 or so for a better mobo. The VP450, as I mentioned before, is meh but it'll do. You'd want to add another 4GB RAM asap. BF4(and maybe Hardline) will refuse to launch with only 4GB RAM, but that's about it, as far as I'm aware anyway.

Either way, you can do better than a 6300.

Just adding this though.

If you want a all round balanced build and want it to just work from the outset. Get the 6300 build. It really depends if you plan on upgrading soon after buying. Because if you do, get the Intel build. But if you plan on sticking to these specs for a while and want a balanced build. Get AMD.

The 6300 is far from a bad CPU and will still hold it's own in games.

As this way you won't hit any issues when launching games due to not enough RAm or CPU cores.
