So I've been a jailbreaker ever since ios 5 came out. I've had some decent experience on jailbreaking. But it seems to me TaiG is one of the harder tools. Lots of errors and the need to downgrade your version of iTunes (which somehow deleted my iPhone's backup right after I backed it up and restored. Thanks god I atleast backed up through iCloud) Anyways, I finally jailbroke it, but when I tried to get my backup on my phone, it was deleted.....So, I decided to use my iCloud backup. But wait.. you can't use iCloud backups unless you fully restore your device. That means losing your jailbreak. So the dumb self that I am restored through settings and erased all settings and contents. Now for those of you who don't know, restoring the device through settings while jailbroken will put your phone in an endless boot loop.

So now I have completely screwed up in every way possible. So I guess this topic is to warn you guys. Don't pull a me and do what I did because I am currently restoring my phone through iCloud and have no backup on my computer due to iTunes deleting it even though it shouldn't.

Should have backed up through the older version of iTunes as well,
It's like a 1/50 people who loses data when jailbreaking.. That's unlucky dude.

Can I ask a question? Did you update to 8.x through OTA?

Nope. I made sure to update through the computer. I just really screwed up on my part of the jailbreaking.

This is why you don't try a jailbreak if you are a noob, you should've let someone with jailbreak skills do it for you.

If you bothered to read the post, I have been jailbreaking since ios 5. Each jailbreaking tool is different. I think TaiG is more different than the tools where you have to manually download your ISPW and set your device into DFU mode. TaiG just has too many bugs right now. I wish they would've waited longer to release it.

Seeing as I've been jailbreaking since IOS 3.1.2 my opinion of TaiG is different. TaiG has been my favorite jailbreak since Greenp0ison. Same as ever single jailbreak if you follow the directions properly all will go well 95% of the time. With the most recent release of TaiG it was not that simple this release was a Train Wreck. Which is why I've avoided it.

This is my first time using TaiG. It was an awful experience. As I said, way too many bugs. They should have tested it more, but my phone is jailbroken after a couple Google searches and tweaks to my computer and phone. So I'm glad it worked, but I still think Greenp0ison and Redsn0w were alot cleaner and smoother.

nope i did it without restore
Was it possible that you set your phone into SafeMode during the BootLoop?
Either way, I had to restore in order to receive the iCloud backup on my phone. Apple won't let you restore backup from iCloud unless you restore fully.
