(I apologize for making this topic in this forum, but I'm not sure where else to put this.)

Well to start off, I don't have the greatest internet.
Also, this doesn't fall under PC games; rather me specifically playing on Xbox Live.

So anyways, my connection is fine when I play...
Up until someone starts streaming Netflix or YouTube.
It really makes every game unplayable with the lag.

I've tried a few different things..
-Unplugging my router for 10+ minutes
-Changing the primary and secondary DNS on my Xbox's network settings
-Changing the the QoS Section in my router's settings

Still, no luck.

So, my question is: How can I fix this issue?

I've had an idea possibly by getting the laptop's MAC Address and making it a lower priority in the QoS setting, but I'm not sure if that will work..?

Thanks for taking your time to read this.
Help is much appreciated & I'll be sure to
+Rep if I find a solution.

Your router may not be able to handle Xbox Live and Netflix at the same time. Talk to your ISP about it or get a new router

I'm trying to refrain from dropping money on a new router, just incase that doesn't work.
And I'm not really sure what my ISP can do due to the fact we have the cheapest internet plan they offer.
But I guess trying wouldn't hurt.

as much as i know its the easy answer, upgrading the plan would of course higher bandwidth and make speeds quicker and upgrading router is a smart thing to do with the plan upgrade. I dealt with the same sort of problem before moving. I always had ok internet and then as soon as someone else did anything it was awful. I know the pain.

That may be your problem, I think really the best thing you can do is use each service one at a time, such as Netflix for a while, then XBL a bit afterwards

Haha yeah. It's very frustrating.
As much as I hate to say it, I may have to go with this route.
