Hi, I have a computer that runs CS at about 50-60 fps but it lags from time to time so I'm looking to build a computer with either:

AMD FX-8350 and MSI Radeon R9 280 or i5-4690K and GTX 960

Looking to play on 1080p with medium-high settings. If someone could let me know if either can run at over 120 fps at these settings it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I'd go with the i5 and the gtx 960. Right now I have i7 with gtx 760 and I'm running the game maxed out and my FPS stays in-between 200/300. I don't really check though.

Oh nice one, thank you! On the more expensive side but sounds like it'll be worth it.

It's Cs you can run it on integrated graphics lol.

You'll be fine with any dedicated GPU.

It won't matter which one you get to be honest as CS:GO isn't a very graphically intensive game, but I would go with the i5 and 960. The 960 has a lower power consumption to the 280, and does not get quite as hot. In my opinion it is the better card of the two in almost every area.

My friend has an 8350 with a gtx 770 and runs it perfectly. And the i5-4690k will outperform the 8350 on games, along with the gtx 960 outperforming the r9 280. You will be able to run CS:GO great on any of these builds, I would go with the i5 though. If you have extra money, upgrade the gtx 960 to a 770, you will see better FPS.

Like the others said, easily run at over 300 FPS. I would definitely go for the i5 though.
