Done this a few times before and never had an issue but this time the laser seems to be messed up and won't read a game and makes a HORRID noisepossible could need a new PCB or could be bad spindle or worm gear motor. I can not see the video on Facebook try YouTube I can help you further along. Also did you remove the anti static point that is bridged for shipping ?

I will upload it to youtube tomorrow. Yes I removed the anti-static solder ball before installing
Can you also show and explain what the drive is doing in the video?
There is the video, sorry it's a few days later than i said i would get it up. You may not be able to see it in the video, but the laser starts to read the disc, then judders backwards as it makes that horrible noise

I have replaced the worm gear motor, put another new laser in and still makes the horrible noise and judders as it tries to read a disc :/

What Tag-Nation has said is correct. If you can tell me what motherboard you have i can see if i can repair this for you , and then put it back so it works like a normal Retail console again for you
