Fallout 4 Characters
Sole Survivor (You)
The Sole Survivor is spending a pleasant Saturday morning with their partner and child. They then get accepted into Vault 111 by a Vault-Tec representative after verification. The protagonist briefly spends time with their infant son, Shaun and their partner, only moments before the alarms ring out to signal a nuclear attack. The family then sprints towards the vault, along with other neighbors and a nuclear bomb detonates nearby as they wait for Vault 111's hatch to open. The protagonist survives the blast and is lowered into the vault. Two hundred years later (for reasons currently unknown) the protagonist emerges from Vault 111 as the sole survivor.
Codsworth (Possible Companion)
Codsworth is a Mister Handy that was the Sole Survivor's robotic butler before the Great War. Codsworth is reunited with the Survivor after 200 years of roaming around Sanctuary Hills.
Preston Garvey
Preston set up the Commonwealth Minutemen in Quincy, and eventually they moved onto Lexington. Preston described the set-up as "looking good for a while", but eventually, they were driven out by raider gangs with most of the Minutemen killed. Legend
Locations
Boston
Boston is a location within the Commonwealth, and is the setting of Fallout 4. The City of Boston and the Greater Boston metropolitan area will be included in the game.
The Statue of Paul Revere Monument, Massachusetts State House with its unique golden dome, USS Constitution, Scollay Square, the Bunker Hill memorial, and Fenway Park appear in the Fallout 4 trailer.
Boston was first settled in the early 1630s by European colonists. Many of the important historical events of the American Revolution such as the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, Paul Revere's midnight ride, the battles of Lexington and Concord and Bunker Hill, and many others occurred in or near Boston.
The Institute was a prestigious university located in Boston. It seemed to continue well into the 21st century, Robert House being a student in his younger years. Following the war, the Institute managed to survive and even thrive. The scientific community inhabiting the university has created technologies vastly superior to anything else seen in the wasteland. Androids, specifically, are one of the creations to come out of the Institute.
It is unknown whether or not Boston was hit directly during the Great War. However, a mushroom cloud can be seen near Vault 111. Its status as a major city would suggest that it was attacked in some form. Only one bomb hit the Greater Boston area during the Great War, and by the 23rd century, the ground zero and outlying areas of the region became known as the Glowing Sea. Even 200 years later, the area remained dangerously irradiated, periodically stirring up radiation storms which would breach the confines of the Glowing Sea, and threatened the entire Boston region.[1]
Post-war, the Commonwealth has been described by Dr. Zimmer as "a war-ravaged quagmire of violence and despair". It is likely that Boston, being within the region, is the same.
The city center comprises of several tall skyscrapers, one of which is the Institute. Many pre-War buildings, monuments and landmarks are still standing, but have worn with time, with some being renovated with scavenged parts, and having a very ramshackle appearance, suggesting that central Boston may have partly defended themselves against a nuclear attack in some way, as did Robert House with Las Vegas. In the outer areas outside of the city centre are rolling barren plains, wastelands, and suburbs.

Vault 111
Vault 111 is one of the vault series of fallout shelters developed by Vault-Tec. This vault is located within Concord, Massachusetts.
Somewhere between 2077 and the 23rd century, an unknown form of internal disaster occurred, leading to the deaths of all residents of the vault except for one sole survivor.
Unlike other vaults, the entrance to Vault 111 not only has an atypical pneumatic hull, but also acts as a hatch which gives way to an interior elevator. The inner door is seen to open first, followed by the hatch opening. While painted in the prelude, the vault door is seen to be characteristically rusted and dull after the Great War.
Vault 111 appears to use an elevator system that connects to the surface to reach the vault door, no other vaults throughout the Fallout series have ever used such a system, but rather a tunnel or cave to reach them, with the exceptions being Vaults 3, 19, 21, and 22.

USS Constitution
The United States Ship Constitution is a location in Boston in Fallout 4.
The USS Constitution is seen to have been outfitted with dual rocket engines, similar to those used in the creation of rocket ships.
The ship appears to have been landed on a bank after a rocket-boosted voyage.

Customization
'Fallout 4,' the latest chapter in the extremely popular post-apocalyptic open world game franchise, is easily one of the most anticipated games of 2015. But from everything Bethesda Softworks showcased on Sunday night, the biggest crowdpleaser was the enormous emphasis on customization.
You can create your character by simply selecting parts of the face and sculpting.
Thanks to Bethesda Softworks' dynamic Creation Engine, the same system that's used to create all the non-playable characters you see in the game, you don't need to use sliders to adjust any aspect of your character's appearance. Just touch and go.
You can also play "Fallout 4" as a female. But what's really cool is that since you can customize the couple to your liking, the game will actually generate a baby based on your choices. You can design both the male and female protagonists however you want, but whoever you leave the menu as is who you'll play.
Of course, the customization options don't stop at character creation.
Building and crafting is a major part of "Fallout 4," so Bethesda Softworks is now allowing your character, while playing, to rebuild his or her settlement to your liking. You can scrap any item in the world for materials, and then use those materials to build the way you want.
And since it's all a dynamic game engine, it all works in real-time: Just rip apart anything you see in the world and use it later for rebuilding.
It's all about making it your own experience: You can build and decorate a place you want to live in and something nice for your doggy companion, too.
As your settlement grows, traders will arrive. You can plant food and water, and even create power generators to basically run the town. Yes, you have to connect all the wires, but it all works seamlessly. You can even hook up a terminal to the power grid so you can control everything the power lines are connected to, like lights and even defensive turrets.
And you'll want those defensive turrets, since your settlements can and will get regularly attacked by raiders from the wasteland.
And that's not all! Every single weapon in "Fallout 4" is fully customizable: There are over 50 base weapons and over 700 modifications for those weapons, and you modify weapons using materials from your environment: everyday objects like alarm clocks, duct tape and toasters can be salvaged and harvested to build weapon mods like scopes, grips, muzzles, beam-splitters, and so much more.
Even baseball bats can be customized for maximum carnage.
And for the first time, players will also be able to customize their power armor, for all those hairy situations you're likely to encounter while exploring the vast wastelands.
By giving players the ability to customize everything from identity to family, weapons, power armor, and even your own living settlement it should be near impossible for two players to have the same experience in "Fallout 4." The series is known for its vast open worlds and its strong sense of style and humor, but this level of customization will hopefully make Bethesda's latest effort even more accessible to audiences unfamiliar with the series.

Preston Garvey, the leader of the Commonwealth Minutemen in Fallout 4, is now available in Shelter. Additionally, the Laser Musket weapon he uses in Fallout 4 (pictured above) is now available in the game for your Vault dwellers to brandish.
However, you won't find Garvey wandering around your Vault the next time you open up the game. He's categorized as a Legendary Dweller, and you'll need to open a lunchbox in order to obtain him.
Lunchboxes are special items rewarded to players from time to time that can also be purchased with real-world money. These are Bethesda's lone way of generating revenue from the game, but as it's already stated, Shelter "is not about making money."
