Hey guys, I've been gaming for a number of years now, and thought I'd finally create myself a gaming computer. I'll start by using the pre-set questions on the sticky Smile
What is your budget and currency? Budget is 500 GBP.
Do you need a monitor? Nope.
Do you need a keyboard? Nope.
Do you need a mouse? Nope.
Do you need an operating system? I want Windows 8.1 for free..
What will you use the PC for? I will use the PC for mostly light casual gaming and some Software like C4D and most Adobe Programmes.
When: I need to sell my own PC first but I don't have a strict time zone that my PC needs to be built in.
I would be grateful for anyone who can help me, and give me some advice. If you would like any other info just comment below.
Thanks in advance!

Add another 4GB of ram when you can.
also thank you for looking at the sticky it helps us guys out.
I think I'd like to aim it towards the gaming side more. I don't use these programmes regularly but I would be gaming more.
Thanks!
Thanks!

That looks good but the GPU when you go onto amazon is about £125 more expensive...

200 series are fkd now. Pricing is weird. Better off with that Palit 970 that's £2225(oops, I meant £225) somewhere. I wouldn't be pairing a 290x or a 970 with an i3 though anyway, a bit unbalanced IMO. 380 and i5 would be better combo IMO.

Yeah i linked a Palit 970 earlier it was from Aria FYI. But now the deal has ended.
I don't think the 380 is all that good, Re branded 285 for £40 more just 2Gb more Vram and a slightly higher clock speed. Gets beat by an r9 280/280x in most cases just has an extra 1gb of video ram which OP probs wont use.
Meh the i3 will hold its own, of course won't be as good as a standard quad core I5 but won't be bottlenecking a r9 290x/970 that much either. Its just an option if OP wants more Graphical power, however the 380 will be enough for any game on a single 1080p monitor but personally I'd probs go with an I5 + 380/280/280x

If you can get the money soonish and go with the 290x/i3 build then you can upgrade to an I5 later on down the line.
If you're just gaming at 1080p and don't plan on anything more intensive then get an i5/380
