The "Introduce Yourself" section is a nightmare. New members tell us who they are, and then the topic gets flooded with:

"Welcome to TTG! Read the Rules and Stay Active"
"Welcome to TTG, have fun and read the rules!"
"Hey, have fun and read the rules"
"Welcome to TTG! I'm here for a higher post count!"
"Read the rules and stay active"
"Hey! Have fun and stay active and give me rep!"
"Hey Welcome to TTG!"

9 times out of 10 you'll see the same person go through the entire section and Copy/Paste on every single topic.

That whole section is a shitshow.
That being said, post count is an irrelevant number so it really doesn't matter.

I dont even see why it allows you to even comment on the posts.
You should make the post and nobody should be able to comment on it.

If you want to say hi to the person that posted it then Add him and PM him.

Or Just PM Him.

Pisses me off, but i still comment to say hi. ;) Just to be nice people done it for me when i joined so ill do it to new members.

If you see people posting lots of identical/very similar messages just report them for spamming, problem solved.

I feel like a new user should get a mandatory PM saying welcome and link the rules etc.
and the introduce yourself forum was locked for only the original poster to post

I completely agree with what you are saying, but The Rant section is also another big section fulll of crappy, half-brained, post-thirsty topics/replies.

I guess in any topic of any section you go in, you'll probably be able to find somebody posting whatever they possibly can come up with just to get that post count up.

And I don't mean to take shots at this section or your topic or the people that have responded or even you! However...

In the Introduce Yourself post, it's:

Original Poster: Hi, I'm ____ and I'm new.
Thousands of replies: Hi _____, welcome to TTG.

In The Rant section , it's:

Original poster: Hi, I think _____.
Majority (NOT ALL) of the replies: Yea, I agree.

I mean it's the same thing with Milestones posts or Forum Games posts. Some people just like getting those easy posts. And if they get some kinda fulfillment out of that, then good for them! As long as they are enjoying the site, having a good time, and not spamming or ruining anyone else's time, then it's all fair.

It's not the quantity of posts people notice on here, anyway. It's the quality.
