Long story short the microphone on the bottom stopped working slowly over the past few weeks so people can't hear me when I call them and it doesn't record audio when recording a video... only "white noise." It's been slowly getting worse over the past few weeks where I would need to talk loudly for the person to hear me, and today it finally decided to quit working. I have a few questions: I don't have Apple Care or ATT Insurance simply because I don't expect to have problems since I use a lifeproof and never drop my phone so would I take it to Apple or ATT... the closest Apple store is an hour away so that's a pain... ATT is 5 minutes away. 2. What am I looking for in terms of replacement/repair since it's not under warranty/insurance but it's a microphone problem not a broken screen/water damage. 3. I'm due for an upgrade in December through ATT's "NEXT" program... hopefully getting a replacement if possible won't nix my chances at getting that upgrade in five months.
Any help is appreciated... I've tried googling but couldn't come up with much about microphone problems.
Additional info: I was on iOS 8.0 when the problems started and I have since upgraded and the microphone still doesn't work. The iPhone isn't jailbroken, it's freshly upgraded.
