Well I'm going to university in September so I'll be needing a decent laptop/MacBook to do my work on. I've been looking at a few MacBooks but haven't got a clue on the specs etc. and whether they are worth the money or not. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it! I've got a budget of between 600GBP-750GBP although I get 150GBP off the official apple website as I'm a student.

Any help would be great! Also +rep will be given for any help!

Thanks!

If your looking at MacBooks, and you want something that you can use for 4 years decently, you can automatically rule out the 'MacBook.' That's the one that comes in the 3 colors. The processor is extremely low end, it barely equals the same performance of a core i3 processor. For your budget I would suggest checking out the air

Ahh ok, not too sure on the specs though, such as the memory etc.

I have a Macbook pro and I love it! Great processor and my sister also has a MacBook Pro, she is getting a new one because she had her old one for SEVEN years, very reliable.

£749.99 GBP

that there^ looks like a mac with the silver body and black keys but underneath is an Intel i7, 16gb or ram and an sshd (ssd and HDD combination) so in other words, this laptop will be AMAZINGLY FAST

That's the benefit of buying Apple computers over your standard windows machine manufacturers. Mac's are built better with better material, and they don't offer low end options, so no matter what you get you will be having a good experience.

That's not true. They are one of the most unreliable laptops due to crap GPU chips in them. Also the frame is easy scratched/dented and very expensive to replace, they also have terrible air flow (This usually causes the graphics problems).

They are no better than any other, just market better.
