Sara wrote where u from uk or usa? and what type of car u looking at and u going under ur parents insurgence

I'm from the UK, also it doesn't matter what type the car is just any really and i would be going under my own insurance

I don't know how it is there, but in the US if your under 18 you have to be on your parents insurance policy, you cannot have your own until you've reached that legal age of 18

You can hold your own policy here at the tender age of 17.

Not in your own name, fully you still have to have an adult

If you have your full licence you can hold a policy on your own. Obviously if you have a provisional mummy and daddy may need to step in and lend a helping hand.

No you can get a policy on a provisional too at 16 if riding a 50cc.

Back to the topic, just look on eBay and type in stuff like: 1.1, 1.2, 1.4 etc

Make sure you are in the cars section.

Classic Mini
going up so get one now, sell on for some profit
insurance on a 998 is about £1500 under your name
and if it's older than 1987 ish then it can go on classic insurance which is even cheaper.

Need an idea of a first car, I've just turned 17 and wanting to get a car, not a really expensive one. I need some decent ideas of what to get.

Thanks

I don't know what your laws are, but I started with an EF Civic and moved on shortly after to a '90 Miata. Both were really great cars in the sense of being absolutely powerless.

1.2 Polo or 1.2 Clio would be good. Do not go for sport models or anything that is open to performance modifications

Honestly, the car jocks on this thread might call me down for saying this, but if you want a cheap reliable car, get a civic, my first car was a 05 honda civic Si a few years ago, and it still runs strong with 335k kms on it, I got a 2015 Si for the winter and its runs smooth with the amounts of snow we get her in Newfoundland, Canada! Plus, if you get a Si civic, The k20s and K24s are pretty easy to do upgrades to, I'm getting a new motor for my 05 when i gets the money and im going to try and do some cool thing to it, even if you get a lower model civic like a DX or LX they are still good and reliable but if you want to spend a bit more money, I got a 96 Supra that i would kill to keep forever.

I would go for the Vauxhall Astras, Ford fiestas. Stuff like that, you don't want anything above a 1.4 litre because of insurance especially if its under your name too
