NZGx_beast wrote002 wroteNZGx_beast wrote002 wrote My brother just bought his 2013 with 38k miles for 11,500.
I personally hate Mustangs. My brothers MAX carrying weight is 700 LBS, so they can't haul much, and it really is only a 2 person car.
I think it is a good deal IF it is on a clean title (not rebuilt or salvage). If it has the 3.7L engine, you will notice it doesn't have a lot of power. My brothers has the 3.7L and he can't even spin tires lol.
Turn the traction control all the way off by putting it in reverse holding down the brake and press the traction control down for 5 seconds. A light will pop up in you dash after the 5 seconds and your tires will spin just pulling out of your driveway. Please don't underestimate the Stang bruh... Oh and with the good grades discount and stuff like that (considering you are very well insured) expect your insurance to be around $250 a month honestly. Its a veryy fun car to drive but if you get in an accident you're screwed... no way around that. I was in the same boat you're in not too long ago so if you have any questions about it and want to ask someone who has already been through all of that just hit me up with a pm
Taking traction control and advanced trac off does not help. His car has a governor on it so if you stand on the brake and gas, you will only get up to 2k rpm. Same thing is you slam on the gas and tap the brake I do.
My brothers insurance is about 1600/6 mo. so about 250, yeah.
Now that my brother bought a v6 Mustang, even if I where to buy a Mustang I would never buy a v6 lol. I'd have to get the 5.0L.
Is it an automatic or a manual? If I get some time later I'll prove that v6 manual can spin I just have to find someone to record lol and engine size is your choice, I didn't get the GT because of the terrible gas mileage but as @TransAm pointed out if you put $8,000 into it who cares... but spinning tires is not very hard in it and idk why you can only get to 2k rpm... just hold in the clutch longer and press the gas in more. I bet you have an automatic though so idk how to help you with that
Psh, you think my brother is going to drive a manual? Haha, you funny lol.
The only way possible I could see that even having a chance at doing a burn out is turning off traction control and advanced trac, then have the E-brake fully on and rev the hell out of the engine and drop the E-brake.

@Zeyev good point for the shoe but a 2010 Gt mustang has 315 stock hp... a 2014 v6 has 305 stock hp... he does't need to spend 18k on a 2010 GT when he can spend 18k on a 2014 mustang v6 with nearly the same hp. It doesn't make sense...

@002 I didn't know it was auto lol that explains a lot and thats also a pretty good way to ruin your E-brake but I guess in an auto you don't really need it so if you get a stang I suggest get a auto GT or a manual v6... specs are similar depending on years you compare

HP really doesn't mean anything to me. My truck makes like 220 HP, and my brothers car makes 305 hp. My truck still beats the car in the bottom end. Past 30 my truck is a slug because I'm on 35" tires with 3.55 gears lol. No I can't beat him in a race from 0-30, but there is really no gap.

1997 F-150 4x4 that may or may not have a redneck throttle body mod
The truck creates a ton of power on the bottom end, but say when I get on the freeway, it is extremely hard to pass someone because it does not like to go.
My brother is one of those over correct drivers. full stops, turn signal 100 ft before stop, etc. He also won't rev the engine past 3500. I have no problem red lining my truck lol.

Well for one thing, it's a truck...the only good truck made for racing was the GMC syclone but good luck trying to buy one they are rare.
*highly suggest looking them up. Pretty cool truck
