Can anyone tell me whether it also has a single player part? I only ask as when I'm at work I have the chance to go on my computer, but I don't have internet when there, and I believe the best way to get through a 12 hour shift of working is by not working at all and playing games!

Yes it does. I'm assuming you go to host your own then you can just not setup the multiplayer stuff or something, but the store page says it has SP.
