This is my first time re-applying thermal paste into my Heatsink. I looked up videos and they said to remove the other old thermal paste with 70% alcohol +. Do I absolutely have to remove the other paste as I don't think I have the alcohol to remove it?

I have never used rubbing alcohol...
i stress test the CPU before I remove the cooler to get the paste warm and then use a regular kitchen towel to remove the paste. Never had an issue removing it. It can be done on cold paste, but is a little bit harder and takes a few minutes longer.

I did exactly that as well. I would run the PC for a few min. and use a towel to wipe it off

I done it and applied the paste, after running my computer then for 10 minutes it just shut down. Opened up and the Heatsink is warm. Now I think the fan isint working.

The thing the wires go into came out but that seems to be just a simple put down on pins. Not sure how to post photos from a phone or if I even can.

I used a spare KFC wipe to clean thermal paste from my CPU before. I obviously wouldn't recommend it, but it worked. You can buy small bottles of isopropyl alcohol and packets of coffee filters online, that's the best thing to do, and it's always handy to have the stuff, as well as spare thermal paste. I'd honestly recommend just doing that.

it isn't required to have the proper stuff but I suppose it just makes it a lot easier...
