So a while back I heard a couple of rumours about Area 51, from stuff like crazy weaponry to Aliens.
I'm not really sure what is happening over in Area 51. But I do know 1 thing, the US government don't want us knowing what is going on.

Area 51 is just a place where the military tests out prototypes. The SR-71 blackbird was said to have been developed there. Anything else beyond this such as aliens is just absurd.

In addition to what Methylamine has said:
The secretive aspects of Area 51 are obvious. If they're testing out new aircraft and vehicles they're not going to want every average Joe going in and taking pictures of their top secret prototype stealth helicopter.

I always wonder why the government says, If you are doing nothing wrong, Theres no need to hide anything, Let that sink in.

PattieCakes wrote I always wonder why the government says, If you are doing nothing wrong, Theres no need to hide anything, Let that sink in.If you are trying to compare what the NSA says to why they won't tell about Area 51, then you are thinking wrong. Area 51 tests out prototypes, so it would make absolutely no sense to tell people what they do. It's none of our business. Say they are developing a weapon to use against ISIS. (Just a random example). I'm sure they don't want people knowing about it and potentially leaking information to the enemy.
On another note with the NSA, it is entirely their business in what some of us do. I don't get why people can't get through their thick skulls that the NSA has better things to do than to spy on your computer and look at your porn collection. Them spying on us is meant to be used in betterment of our countries national defense, not to violate our privacy.
If you are not referring to the NSA, I apologize for my little rant.
