Okay so the last time that I hosted was around January 2013.
I am very tempted to invest in a jailbroken ps3 again in order to host different lobbies, for a bit of fun and what not, as bypass mw2 back in the day was my favourite option to host, was just very enjoyable.
What I want to know is... what is the threshold population of ps3 like these days? What I am mean by this, is that myself like many others now have ps4's, so would it actually b worth doing as in will I be likely to have nearly a full lobby most games on games including mw2, bop1 and bop2 or will the lobbies be nearly empty.
I used to host using Nikelobbies- you can search that on youtube or go through my comments from a few years back for proof but yeah, I think it'd be good and fun providing there'd be enough people to supply enjoyment too.
This will occur less than a month away once I get everything ordered again as I sold my console 2 years back.

the bypass lobbies are not as full. it takes awhile for me to join one. as now you dont type in an ip. you have to download something.

Ah. Oh how times have changed for the worse. What about black Ops1 and black Ops 3 lobbies? Are they full at all or? Disappointing to here about mw2.
Any idea on how full they'd roughly be...?

If you want to buy a Jailbreak there is a couple of methods now to get yourself online. Back in the day it wasn't that difficult to spoof to get yourself online. I'll give you examples:
Rebug - 3.55, 4.65, 4.70, 4.75
DEX - 3.55, 3.46, 4.50, 4.75 (DEX ITA) You don't need to worry about that because DEX has it's own spoofing method but still you need to know how to spoof.
You can PM me if you have any problems with your Jailbreak if your're going to get one yourself. If you got a JB now fairs. #HappyModding

On my last Jailbreak I literally got a ofw 3.55, downloaded kmeaws cfw and installed and what not installed packages the patch etc used the menu for get the name, and copied patch from USB and then data transferred to my second ps3 then hosted from that through the transferred file.
Is that still going on or is it more complicated now?

Well, if you revise now and keep on doing it and remember what's a jailbreak all about you'll be fine. It took me 4 months to get where I am now. I've been modding for many of years now so I know what I'm doing and why I am doing it. You could say it's complicated now any there is like 4-5 steps to get yourself online from 3.55 - 4.75 Spoof online.
I sent you a PM with a few queries, I know the majority of the old ways, such as setting up the patch you want etc using mulitman and USB and what not and data transferring over to the original ps3 in order to play online with the altered patch, but I'm not sure if it has changed that much with all this dex and cex talk has now thrown me of my way.
I am going to start up again I've decided as there seems to be a decent thershold on blackops2 on ps3 so that should be good enough for me, but i'll need some guidance on how to go about it, I could reward you or something.

If you want to host on BO2 on Jailbreak you need:
PS3 Jailbreak
CCAPI to connect to RTM Tools
RTM Tools that you want to use E.G Red Bxes, Prestige, Rank etc..
Does that include functionality in order to operate a mod menu such a one as advanced as those seen in Modern warfare two, or are they less sophisticated and only offer limited functionality?

There are still alot of people on BO2 and stuff if you are looking to host public lobbies finding games is not an issue even if you are using force host .

black ops 2 is the best to host, everyone will join it
