3-4 times faster is definitely noticeable, considering Sata SSD's are 3-4 times faster than an HDD. If you weren't able to notice the much larger difference between something like an 850-EVO and an Intel 750 drive, you definitely wouldn't notice the difference between an HDD and an SSD.

There is only so fast you can boot an OS... I wouldn't want to pay that much more for something that will be so small. I have had personal experience with PCI SSD's and they are a real bastard to get going. Wouldn't ever buy another one because of that reason.

SATA is fast enough, it just is.

Just coz it's 3-4 times faster, doesn't mean it's going to boot 3-4 times faster into an OS.

My 850 EVO boots windows 8.1 in around 7 seconds, and if that 750 can boot it in 1-2 seconds, I'll happily buy one.

Easy enough to install Windows to the 750 and it's mind blowingly fast. It's not only going to be beneficial for OS boot times. Regardless, OP's budget is $6k, it makes no sense not to a 750 IMO.

If he wants to buy it... Bya ll means get it.

My 850 EVO boots in under 7-8 seconds everytime and boots even the biggest of programs (Adobe Photoshop Extended) in under 3... But he wants to shave of 2 seconds the OS boot, is that really worth the extra. You can get a 1TB 850 EVO for cheaper then the Intel 480GB... Seema rather silly in my eyes, But ima leave it there.

I suggested a 1TB 850-EVO, as well as the 750 for OP in his other thread since he has a $6k budget. I only recommend the 750 in huge budget rigs because that's the only place it really makes sense but it does still make sense, it's mind-numbingly fast. It's worth it for the e-peen alone.
