hey guys, long time no see but anyways i just saw a shooting star went for about 2 seconds then dissapeared. So my dad says make a widsh and i do so but could this "shooting star" possible be a UFO.

P.S what are the two planets visible in the southern hemisphere at the moment

shooting stars don't disappear they travel one end to the other!

What time did you see it and where abouts are you [nothing specific obviously] but a specific time would be good.
There are a number of online tools which can help narrow down the possibilities.

There are a number of things it could have been before aliens though.
It could have been a meteoroid burning up in the atmosphere which is why it disappeared.
It could have been a satellite crossing Earth's horizon and no longer reflecting light from the sun which is why it disappeared.
It could have been a planet, like you've said.

it would of been about 9:23pm in Victoria, Australia it seemed to just pop up and dissapear. The trail behind it was like a sparkle almost and long. It didnt go form one end form the sky either and the sky is completly clear tongiht...

At around 9:23pm the USS Zarya passed over southern Australia, specifically Victoria.
I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that it's what you saw.
As it hit the Earth's Horizon it stopped reflecting light from the Sun which could be why it seemed to disappear.

It works off both UTC and your specific timezone so you can find out when a satellite will be over your area.
I didn't realize how often they passed over the UK until I found this site.
