The 400e rig will play the majority of games. You'll need a new mobo for CPU upgrade, since there's no logical FM2+ upgrade over a 7870k/860k. It can be upgraded but the next logical CPU upgrade is Intel, or possibly, Zen. You should add a GPU to the rig when possible, probably the wisest upgrade to start with, but save for something decent, like an R9 380 or similar. You can always add more storage(SSD(s) and/or HDD(s))

You want to Hard Disk Drives aswell as the Solid State Drive(If you even decide that you want one.) 120GB wont be enough storage for what your friend will need for the games ect that he will be downloading.

Should be more than enough, Hard Disk Drives and Solid state drives are easy to upgrade if he ever decides he wants more space. I would suggest upgrading the HDD if you want to upgrade either of them though.
