I have a 1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series and im looking to upgrade but im not sure what i should be looking for and/or if i should be upgrading if you could comment some recommendations that would be great thanks!

anything nvidia has are great cards but i wouldnt mix them with amd cpus cause issues but up to you

This is a myth and I'm not sure where it came from. Intel is not Nvidia and ATI has not always been AMD. Throttling based on other hardware present in the system might even be illegal.

Unsure of your PSU & Budget, however:

I would recommend a 960, you're more than likely on a 1080p display & a 960 doesnt draw much power, or you could go with a R9 380, which just edges the 960, i beleive.

HOWEVER, Before upgrading PLEASE make sure your CASE & PSU can handle the upgrade.
