This is ridiculous. Sure they aren't hardcore gamers but they have a passion for Clash Of Cans so they are a gamer. 2014 was the year of the media trying to belittle and bring down gamers, instead of joining them in bringing down others just accept it and move on, if that is too hard just ignore it.

The term "gamer" is so broad is open for interpretation really, like I know people who ONLY play CoD and occasionally mminecraft and GTA and thats all... They say they are gamers and they will try and explain to me what kind of game is good/bad. Like bro... I play every type of genre and I like most of the genres, strategy, 3rd person tactical, racing, MMOs, all you play is cod and gta -_- and I dont even consider myself a gamer..Anyway, im getting off topic.

Its not really up to me to tell weather or not someone is a "gamer" I personally HATE the term gamer.. Because well as I said before it can mean anything and that to me is annoying. BUT at the same time, who am I to judge someone.

Heres a small story, freshman year I didnt have any gaming consoles, all I had was my iphone 3/4 . I literally only played mobile games (its a long story, real long but you get the point) , honestly mobile gaming , in my case my iphone games actually werent all that bad and I kinda missed that phase. at the time I still considered myself a gamer, now that im older I kinda dropped the title and now im just a human who likes video games

That makes sense. I honestly wouldn't mind people calling themselves gamers if they were catagorised a bit like, mobile gamers, console gamers, or pc gamers. I play games on my mobile, console, and PC but also catagorise myself as someone who just likes to play video games. I guess I could have just made the topic about the term "Gamer" in general. Like I said in the last bit of the OP, I don't know why it bothers me so much but it does.

I just hate it when people say they are a gamer in general. It just seems like such a waste of time to me. Not my time to be bothered with though, I'm sure to some making this post is a waste of time. Oh well.

A gamer is a person who plays games frequently, doesn't mean you have to have a $5000 setup, just playing games often. If they choose to do that on a mobile device so be it, this is one of the worst rants I have seen.
