I have a newer tv thats 60hz and 1080p can I just use that and save money on my build instead of buying a new monitor. I will buy a monitor at a later date but I wanted to know. I'm either getting a 970 or 980ti gpu and I'll play most games at ultra and 60+ fps hopefully. So will my tv be fine for a month or so?

Yes, just connect it to the TV with a HDMI cable don't use VGA if your TV has one of those inputs which most do.
