No this is not a good pc for the price. It isn't even good in general.

I know everyone says it, but is building totally out of the question?

Build one yourself, I built one my self with my dad about 3-4 months ago, totally worth the money, I payed 600 pounds in parts and it runs so smoothly and runs games at max settings with no problems. Trust me build one yourself you save alot of money. If I bought my pc already built, it would be around 1000 pounds, so basically I saved 400 pounds.

Considering there is no OS or a GPU wouldn't make it a gaming PC at all, unless you were to buy parts and put them into it manually. I would go on PCPicker.com and find a nice build, and build it yourself for MUCH cheaper.
