You will be unable to play comp which is the main part of cs. You will have to hit rank 3 which you can do by playing a bunch of game modes. To level faster you should consider getting the operation and doing missions.I would play casual so you can get used to comp. It's basically the same thing but with more people. Play tdm to get used to the main guns in the game. Ak, m4, awp and p90 should be your priority since they are the best.

I just covered the main guns. I would assume most people would pick p90 over mp7 given the chance. Mp7 would be better if the team wanted to eco but he really doesn't have to worry about that until he can play comp.

Not sure what others have said because I only skimmed here are the main things that you should do IMO;
- Deathmatch // This is the best place to learn how the guns work (spray patterns and such) it also gives you a chance to learn how to move around and get a better feel for movment and adjust sens accordingly.
- Workshop maps // Download a few of the aim training and general training (nades, and strafes) this will help you get some training in.
- Surfing // You'll be shocked at how much this has helped me work on my movement throwing in half an hour to an hour of surfing before i play compet has helped me out loads plus is amazingly fun to see if you can beat your best time.
There are more probably more things to consider but im at work at the moment and i cant think of them, If i get anyting else i'll update this post
Also the things i mentioned are my opinion only, So dont take them as gospel
