Whoa whoa whoa. No it ain't. You clearly have NEVER watched an American football game. The two sports are so very different.

not really you start in the middle chuck the egg shaped ball round and get it to the other end the only difference really is american have runners and such and rugby is mostly just contact until the other end, pretty much the same game
