We're going to need the games you'd like to play. Would you overclock and do you need a Keyboard and Mouse or Monitor? Also what's your currency.

Is the budget of 2000GBP for just the tower? Or does that include the monitor, keyboard and mouse?

If you need a bit of your budget for Mouse, KB, Montior then I'll edit the build.

This should last you a long long time. I hope you're going to get 2 1440p monitors or a 4K monitor. Because this setup will certainly handle all you throw at it.

Do you want one with some LEDs and a Gamer-ish look. My personal preference is minimalistic, I have the case I recommended to you, it looks better in real life, it's easy to build it. Cable management is easy, even for me because I suck at cable management. It's also really quiet which is it's biggest selling point. And has support for 2 ssds behind the motherboard section and an additional 8 hard drives.
It also has a built in fan controller for up to 3 fans. 2 included silent fans. To top it off, it's virtually dust proof.
You can't really go wrong with this case.

Closer to the lower end of your budget with peripherals included. You can easily add a 2nd 980Ti at any point. One 980Ti will slay a single 1440p panel anyway so there's no need for another 980Ti any time soon unless you upgrade to several monitors or if you decide to go 4k instead of 1440p. If you'd prefer 4k;

Spend the extra for an i7 if you wish, and 16GB RAM. It won't do a whole lot, but it's up to you. X99 is a massive waste of money for gaming. Especially considering the 5820k isn't going to perform any better than a 4690k in gaming. You can get a larger HDD and/or SSD, or more storage if you think you'll need it.

But wouldn't X99 last him longer, because games will utilize the 6 cores properly plus the hyper threaded cores.

Not really. It's £225 more expensive for X99 than a 4690k, not worth it since it's not going to be any better for OP's needs. In fact, a 4690k will out-perform a 5820k in some cases. DX12 might make use of more cores/threads but we can't really be sure until we get it. Plus, there's no such thing as future proofing. Several generation old i5's are still fine for gaming, as are several generation old enthusiast grade chips. If DX12 is going to make use of extra threads, it might make sense to get an i7, like a 4790k(or 6700k) but I've heard rumours that DX12 is only going to utilise 6 cores/threads, instead of the 4 we have utilised now. That might be completely false, but again, we won't know yet. Regardless, I think OP should wait for Skylake since it's coming this week and he has a huge budget. It would also help if we actually had some info other than a few games(trust me OP, 6 games is not "most" lmao). Plus, we don't know what peripherals he was considering or whether his £2k budget is supposed to include said peripherals?
