So, I am creating this short article becuase of the misconceptions people have about Pre-built gaming PCs vs. a PC you have build for yourself.

I am proud to admit YES, I BOUGHT A PRE BUILT PC! BUT I have also built PCs before. So I have experience in both sides of this argument. Personally I bought a prebuilt because I was not in the mood to build a PC and I found one that is a better value to buy than to build.. YES PEOPLE it is possible to buy a PC that is cheaper to buy put together than it would be to buy it separately. My PC personally was $600.00 USD online PREBUILT.. After seeing this price I said to myself like everyone else always does, I am going to take this exact build and buy it separate and built it myself because it will be cheaper. BUT NOPE I was wrong after everything was in my cart the total was over $680.00 USD.. So in my case actually buying a prebuilt was actually cheaper than building it myself..

In Conclusion, The point I am trying to make here is STOP with all of the ITS CHEAPER TO BUILD A PC.... Because in reality you are WRONG! Not all cases are the same! Please open your eyes people and stop with the ignorance. In some builds it is cheaper to buy and in some it is cheaper to build..

Prove it then. Link us your pre-built PC and we can go from there.

Most of the time, when buying a pre-built PC, they overprice the parts and whack in stupid configurations like adding 16GB of ram to a build which has a 750ti in there.

I appreciate where you're coming from but it's flawed logic to use an example that rarely ever occurs to rebuke an argument. Sure, there are times when a pre-built will end up cheaper than building yourself but you have to consider why that's the case.

It's probably a build comprising of parts that have better alternatives around the same price-point or parts that will soon be redundant. Pre-built PCs come with a great deal of rigidity and so having a price lower than the build cost of the sum parts is a big warning that the machine probably isn't your best bet. The seller is likely making a loss by selling it at that price (or making a slim profit if parts are bought wisely). If the build was a build with great parts that beat competition at their price-point, the price would be higher. It would be illogical for it not to be the case.

The only times pre-built PCs are a smart idea economically are:
-If the company selling the product has lost faith in it and so are selling it at a very low price (unlikely but probably does happen)
-If a 3rd party seller is selling a used rig and has underestimated its cost.

I'll admit that I'm not an expert at PC building but I do love a good debate so thought I'd pitch in my viewpoint.

Here is a build of that computer...

Cost: $454.58

Notes: I couldn't find a case but you have around $150 dollars left,
There is a windows dvd included but if you wanted to cut cost you could have torrented.

From the looks of it, you got scammed like you normally do with prebuilts.

I do not use PC Part Picker.. I only order from newegg.com and if you do that build on newegg it is more. I dont trust any other site besides newegg and amazon...

Not really.... Because you guys are going off of PC part picker which is providing parts from untrusted sites. The only sites that I trust are newegg.com and amazon.. and in my test on newegg.com my pc was cheaper to buy than to build... So..
